  • Fall Clean Up Underway!

Fall is creeping up on us and it's best to be prepared early. Please read the following tips and friendly reminders for fall: 1. Change the batteries in your smoke/carbon monoxide detectors when the time changes. It's a great way to remember plus it prevents those midnight chirps when the battery is low! 2. Replace your furnace filter once a month to keep the air flowing optimally. Replacements available at the office for a measly $1.50! 3. Clean out your dryer vent. Why not! You're tidying up for winter anyways. Excessive lint in the dryer vent hose is a fire hazard. Get in the routine of cleaning your vent out when the time changes. 4. Window wells must be cleaned out to prevent leaf build up which typically results in water seepage into the basement. Prevention is KEY! 5. All yard waste from leaves and other fall clean up debris must be bagged in recyclable paper bags (no plastic). Bushes and branches need to be properly secured in bundles less than 2.5' in diameter. Yard waste must be picked up in the designated court pick up area after 7pm. Members who dump or rake their leaves into common areas will be fined. Thank you all for your wonderful efforts in keeping Cedarwood as clean and neat as possible. Without you, this place just wouldn't be the same!

  • New Cabinets are a Breeze!

Did you know that you could contact the office to arrange for new cabinets to be installed? Yes you can! Our office contracts with an installer who also supplies the cabinetry. As they've done so many installs for our property, the installation is a breeze. For a modest fee, our installers can help you improve the look AND resale value of your home. Available styles do change, so contact the office as soon as you are interested to see which style is available for you now. Check out this upper cabinet style from one of our older installs. Still looks as beautiful as the day they had it installed. (and they did the backsplash too!)

  • Benefits to Housing Cooperative Membership

There are many benefits to owning a home in a housing cooperative. One major benefit is maintenance. As a home owner of a single family home, you are solely responsible for all maintenance of your property. If you find yourself in hard times financially, this can take you from comfortable to under water quickly. At Cedarwood, our maintenance staff handles services to HVAC systems, the hot water heater, plumbing, sewer, wiring, selected home improvement projects, and much more, at no additional cost. The co-op maintains lawn and snow removal in the common areas. So, you decide, maintenance-free living or it-all-rests-on-you living.

  • Noise and Disturbance

Hate to be the party pooper, but my job is to care about the well-being of ALL members. Here is a recent notice from our membership flyer. No member shall make or permit any noises or disturbances or operate any instruments or other devices that interfere with the quiet enjoyment, rights, comforts and convenience of any other Member of the Cooperative. Stereos, televisions and radios must be operated at reasonable levels at all times, and from the hours of 9:00pm until 8:00am all such devices must be operated at a level so as not to disturb sleeping persons. Power tools, lawn mowers and other similar items are strictly prohibited from being used during the hours of 9:00pm until 8:00am. Thank you for your consideration of the other members by adhering to the above rules. Have a complaint? Call the office to let us know. We can't help correct the situation if you do not call us.

  • Window Wells and Rain

We have been getting tons of heavy rain and while we love the way it perks up our flowers and greens our grass, it doesn't do such wonders for our window wells. But with your help, we can keep those wells looking good and functioning great. Here are a few pointers: 1. Do not store anything in your window wells. 2. Clean out any leaf build up or debris regularly. 3. Purchase a window well cover from your local hardware store. This prevents large amounts of rain from pouring in quickly during a storm. It can also prevent playing kiddos from dropping balls or toys down in there. 4. Never step inside the window well. Perform all cleaning from the outside of the wells. They are not designed to handle excessive weight. 5. Contact the office if there appears to be water sitting in the wells or seeping into your basement. Please search for the leak while it is raining and mark it with a piece of tape. Not all leaks are easy to spot when dried. That's it! Hopefully these tips will keep your window wells in tip top shape. Take care!

  • Our Annual Meeting Was a Hit!

We were more than impressed with the turn out from our members and very pleased with how the night's events carried on. We want to thank all our volunteers and staff for making this night a night to remember and can't wait to see you at our next event...the open house in June! Check out our pictures!

  • New Website Finally Arrived!

We have been working hard to develop a website that is more user friendly and mobile responsive. You asked and we listened! We're not just a housing cooperative, we're a member-owned community. So when our members request improvements, we do everything in our power to try to make it happen for them. We want to thank you for your patience while we continue to develop this website and we encourage you to provide us with feedback. Was it easier to navigate than our last website? Are we missing anything? Did we make some typos? Let us have it!
